Number on the Structure: Where the structure is visible, within 50 (fifty) feet of the edge of the road right-of-way, and can be closely seen from the road, the assigned number should be displayed on the front of the structure in the vicinity of the front door or entry. The sign should be clearly visible from both directions of the roadway.

Number at the Road Line: RECOMMENDED Where the structure is over 50 (fifty) feet from the edge of the road right-of-way, the assigned number should be displayed on a post, fence, wall, mailbox, or on some structure at the property line adjacent to the residence or business, on the same side of the street as the residence or business. All posted numbers at the road should be placed high enough, at least 18 inches from bottom, to not be obscured from average snowfall. Sign should also not be obscured from shrubs, trees, or any other type landscaping that the owner may have. Sign should be visible from both directions of the main roadway.

Size and Color of Number: Numbers should be a minimum of 4 (four) inches high, block design, and be of a white reflective vinyl, on a green reflective background plate. Plate should be 18” tall by 6” wide, with mounting holes vertical, for vertical mounting as close as possible to the roadway. Sign should be double sided and numbered the same on both sides.

Property owner responsibility: Every person whose duty is to display the assigned number should remove any different number that might be mistaken for, or confused with, the number assigned to the property. Place sign according to above recommendations. If home owner in physically unable to place sign, they may contact there local fire department for assistance in placing the sign for them.

Interior location: All residents and other occupants should post their assigned number and road name adjacent to their telephone for emergency reference.
